Religion...are you addicted??
The above blog makes reference to being pestered or harassed by religious figures, which i agree can be annoying. However, i have never myself witnessed an extreme religious cult and i have absolutely nothing against religious people.
I believe in God though i am not particularly religious, for example i don't attend church or anything like that. As society has progressed, religion has become less important and many people profess not to have a faith. This could be due to several reasons such as the fact that religion is regarded as 'unfashionable' as well as not fitting in with conventional lifestyles.
Religion can seem repressive, if we consider the Jewish act observed every week from Friday until Sunday, Shabbat. The whole weekend is dedicated to prayers and religious acts, which can seem daunting, especially for younger children, and if people feel they are pushed into being religious, this may cause them to move away from it.
So on the whole, i think people should feel free to be religious if they want to, but should not be made to feel like they have to convert to a specific way of life, because times have changed a lot from biblical times!
