Abortion...Is It Right?
I completely agree with this blog that this topic will always be controversial...and so too will euthanasia...but i don't have strong feelings either for or against it because i agree that the situation is an important factor...
What can be said in favour of abortion? In agreement with the above blog, if the baby's life is at risk or the child will be born disabled then it is probably for the best...but if the child will have little disability but the parents still don't want to keep it, then perhaps this is cruel...
In contrast to the favourable aspects, there are many reasons why it is believed abortion is wrong...one example is that God created life and so it is not for us to take it away or 'play God' as it were. Many Christians, paticularly Catholics, are in agreement with this, so much so that contraception wasn't allowed, because becoming pregnant was a gift from God. I think this is ridiculous because it would result in babies being born left, right and centre, and i'm sure not all would be wanted...
Abortion should definitely be allowed and not considered 'immoral' in the instance of a rape because this wouldn't be the woman's fault and the unborn baby would just remind her of a great ordeal...
However, as the above blog stated, i do think that people should be more careful about contraception, and if they have worries then take the emergency pill because it is easy enough to get hold of and it would prevent such circumstances!!!
In conclusion, i feel that sex education does need to be taught more because it is a very important part of life and i think it would lower the teenage pregnancy rate...teenage life is difficult enough without a baby!!!
