Are You a Gambler???
Gambling can seem a bit of fun when it isn't taken to the extreme. There are all sorts of ways in which we can gamble including placing a bet at the dogs or horseraces, playing a slot machine and even responding to television competitions...even the lottery is a gamble really...so why do people become addicted???
In agreement with the above blog, many enjoy the thrill of winning and maybe consider it a fun way to make extra money. These are positive points, becuase placing a small bet and winning on the odd occasion doesn't harm anybody.
However, if people become addicted, gambling can tear families apart and destroy a person's life! I think it is terrible that the person in the above blog lost somebody they knew through an addiction to this 'sport'. This is an example of the devastating consequences of debt...so i think people should be very careful when they place a bet from now on!!!
As the above blog has stated, gambling is made to look attractive and as a way to earn money when it is advertised on television by celebrities such as Sharon Osbourne, and therefore people are easily fooled!!! I think it is disgusting and that it shouldn't be allowed. Another example of television promoting gambling is the advert for 'foxybingo.com'...and it can seem very appealing...
Gambling has more disadvantages than positive points...for example, when we place a bet on the horses, if the horse becomes hurt, they are often killed...and television competitions such as GMTV have been accused of fraud...so i certainly won't be entering that competition again because i quite often did!!!
So i think you should all be aware of the downfalls associated with gambling next time you play on a machine!!!
